Helloo world. My flight was uneventful especially after Shauna and I took some sleeping pills with wine. They promised us turbulence but they did not deliver. LAME. We are now in Ueno (by the Tokyo Dome) at a ryƍkan, a very traditional Japanese inn (emphasis on traditional). The rest of the group went to Shibuya, abandoning us here to our tatami mats. We took a shower/bath in a very open bathroom (i.e. NO DIVIDERS) but luckily, no old people were there. At least not today. :( :( :( :( I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

Sad news, we already got laughed at. In our attempts to sit in the smoking car of the train, some old businessman asked us something and we responded with blank stares and smiles. He looked like he was trying to sit down where we were about to sit so Shauna and I decided to move away from the seats at which point he said, “Good, no?” and I said “Good!” and gave him a thumbs-up. And then he started laughing. Meanie. Anyway, we eventually figured out we had assigned seats. Psfhtht. We do what we want old businessman. But I figured Japanese people are obsessed with order so giving them a dose of spontaneity won’t make them happy.
