Sad news, we already got laughed at. In our attempts to sit in the smoking car of the train, some old businessman asked us something and we responded with blank stares and smiles. He looked like he was trying to sit down where we were about to sit so Shauna and I decided to move away from the seats at which point he said, “Good, no?” and I said “Good!” and gave him a thumbs-up. And then he started laughing. Meanie. Anyway, we eventually figured out we had assigned seats. Psfhtht. We do what we want old businessman. But I figured Japanese people are obsessed with order so giving them a dose of spontaneity won’t make them happy.
